This month was whirlwind, woah. SO grateful to have celebrated so many of my favorite people’s weddings!!! From San Diego to San Juan Island to Mexico City to La Quinta, this month was truly a party.
During my travels, I had the chance to visit one of my new favorite hotels in Mexico City. One of those stays where I was already planning a return trip as I checked out. Safe to say, I’ll be back.
Ignacia Guest House
This stay hit so many points I love in a good boutique hotel - warm hospitality, quirky design, incredible food, a comfortable room, beautifully designed communal spaces, and a walkable location.
With just nine suites on the property, staying at Ignacia Guest House feels like you are part of an exclusive (yet welcoming!) secret club. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re transported into a warm oasis. Each room is unique in color theme and decor, offering a different experience for every stay. (I stayed in the Azul Room and loved it.) The communal indoor and outdoor spaces are designed to make you feel right at home. Located in Roma Norte, you’ll find yourself in a lively neighborhood with some of the best restaurants and shops Mexico City has to offer.
The boutique B&B was created by owners and architects Andres Gutierrez and Fernanda Canales, with the interiors designed by architects Esrawe and Cadena. They named the property after the caretaker, Ignacia, who took care of the property for over 70 years. Gutierrez and Canales mixed contemporary architecture with the house’s original 1913 details, for an authentic feel that pays homage to the city’s history.
